Simple, Yet Elegant, August 24, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Twelve South (12-1102) BookArc for Second Generation MacBook Air (Personal Computers) I was a little reluctant to spend the money to purchase this stand, but decided to go for it with an amazon gift card. It seems so simple, but it really does an incredible job at reducing desk space, heat, and cable clutter. It really is an ingenious design. My favorite thing about this stand is that it stands my macbook air upright, displaying the apple logo and clean aluminum body beautifully. It also matches perfectly with my aluminum apple cinema display for a really nice effect. I was also worried about the heat building inside the laptop hurting the laptop display somehow, but so far it seems to not be getting hot at all.

It's sturdy and well-built with good looks that complements Apple's styling. The cable hole is a very nice touch and works perfectly with the Thunderbolt Display's cable to power the MBA and connect the Thunderbolt cable. Highly recommended to get the most out of the MacBook Air.

I dont use it in clamshell mode. I just use it for storage in my desk, when not in use. But it works well for in clamshell in my limited testing, although sometimes the cords from each sides need to be shifted a bit.
