The fan connections don't look very durable either. It's one of those items that will stay on the desk or a large book, or else the connections will probably break.
The size is pretty much perfect for my 13.5" notebook, and the lower fan is in the right spot to blow air in my Fujitsu (Part of the reason I ordered this model). For this reason, it will probably work better than the Targus PA248U Chill I had it was on.
Bottom line... It's what I expected for the low price, so it gets 4 stars. It WILL do what I need, so I'm happy.
Note to MFG: Adding a on/off would be handy.

One, because it has a third fan under the front of the computer, which is where my laptop always gets too hot, in addition to the usual two in the back. Two, because the ad stated that the fans are "silent."
The fans are not silent, by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, they are quite a bit louder than the two previous cooling mats I had, which also were nowhere near silent. But, the fans aren't deafening, and I can live with it because it seems to keep my laptop pretty cool. I think that the extra fan in the front is a plus for anyone whose laptop gets hot at the front. My previous cooling mat had only two fans in the back and that just didn't cut it for my laptop - and it cost twice as much as this mat. I like the fact that this mat folds, because I travel between two offices and other mats I have had were too big to fit easily into my computer bag along with the laptop itself.
