A first-rate product worth the investment., July 15, 2005 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Lapinator Plus! - Blocks the heat & keeps your notebook cooler! (Office Product) This product is a lot more than just a simple portable lap desk for laptops and notebooks. It features a very easy to clean, insulated surface that avoids overheating on the underside of your computer and any heat transfer to your legs. Three included, self-adhesive rubber bumpers, after being attached on the insulated surface just below where the computer's back or back feet would rest, elevate the computer at an angle that's very comfortable for typing, while helping prevent slips and allowing more air to circulate through the venting fans. A Velcro strap attached to its rear end successfully binds any cables connected to the computer, keeping them still to ward off any unnecessary strain their weight and constant shifting could cause on their sockets.
Weighing-in a mere 15 ounces, this product is virtually weightless, and its 18-inch length, particularly recommended for widescreen display laptops and notebooks, manages to both provide some free room next to the computer for my... Read more

(Office Product) Didn't know what to get....wanted something to put on my lap as we use the laptop. Usually, the bottom of the laptop gets way too warm!
Well, I decided to try the Lapinator. There were 2 sizes. I got the larger in order to be able to use the mouse on it too!
This is a pretty good product. It was a very nice sturdy surface on which to put your laptop and still have room to use the mouse. The bottom is a nice, soft insulated material. It is built with 2 nice padded ridges on the underside that help keep the Lapinator up off your lap and allow your lap to breath.
I find this works great! It keeps everything very convenient and allows me to work for hours on the laptop with no heat problem. It also stablizes the laptop for easier use!

(Office Product) Okay, I read all the hype and decided this must be the lapdesk to get. I've been using it for almost a week now. First, it is lightweight as I read in the other reviews. Second, it is sturdy enough for a lapdesk. Third, the bottom is formed thinsulate and does insulate your lap somewhat from the heat, but as I sit here in my tightie-whities, watching American Idol and typing this review I can still feel some heat on my legs. It's not uncomfortable, but it is not totally heat free as the other reviews suggest. The top of the lapdesk appears to be made of a black laminate material, similar to a laminated countertop found in some kitchens. Therefore, it is sturdy enough to serve the purpose. My main and pretty much only complaint is that this thing costs $30.00 plus $6.00 shipping. It just does not have $36.00 worth of feel or functionality.
